How do you want the world to be? Join us…

Just like that beautiful, magnanimous man, Martin Luther-King, I have a dream. It’s a dream I believe many of us share: to live in a peaceful world.

To live in…

A world,

Full of love

Full of joy

Full of trust

Where we are safe

Where people are kind to each other

A world,

Free of violence

Free of nastiness

A world,

Where we uplift and encourage each other

Where we look after each other

Where we have each other’s backs.

Everyday we make decisions that determine how we live our lives and create the world we live in.

We make decisions and actions that either bring us closer to our dreams or further away from them.

And that is indeed true when it comes to creating our world – our inner world and our outer world.

It starts with our thoughts and then is manifested by our actions.

In the words of John Lennon, ‘Imagine all the people living life in peace. You may say I’m a dreamer but I’m not the only one. I hope some day you will join us and the world will live as one.’

Close your eyes, imagine that world. What does it look like? How does it feel?

I imagine it seems a far cry from how the world often looks now. Each morning and evening, I am bombarded with images and acts of violence on the news.

But dreams can come true. They come true by taking steps, taking action to bring them to life. WE make them come true.

I want to live in a world where women are free from violence; women are treated equally to each other and to men; where women have a voice; where women are valued and loved; where women care for and uplift each other.

That is my dream and I am taking steps to make that dream a reality.

That is why I created #gotyourbacksista Day. Because I am doing something that brings me, brings us closer to that dream of living in a world full of love, joy, trust, safety, encouragement and support.

The awesome thing is that I am not alone – we have a posse of 1000’S of sistas with us that have the same dream and want to take action.

Help a stranger, help your mother, help your friend, help a colleague, help your neighbour, help your teacher, help your student, help your sister, HELP A SISTA!

Join the movement on 12 June 2015 by doing an act of kindness for a sista…or even better lots of sistas! That’s how we can change the world for the better: by creating ripples of kindness that resonate globally.

If you are tired of hearing stories of violence and gossip; if you want to feel better about yourself and the world we live in; then join us on 12 June to live consciously and do something uplifting and positive for another woman.

You will be making another woman’s day and you will feel amazing knowing that you have made a difference to someone else.

Imagine if this spread around the world? Imagine what a beautiful, kind and peaceful world we would live in if everybody ‘had each other’s back’.

That’s how we create ripples of change, by one small act at a time that collectively leads to a global movement.

#gotyourbacksista Day is an opportunity to share the love, to show another woman that you’ve ‘got her back’, to consciously reach out to another woman and make her day!

This isn’t about money. This is about doing something kind for someone else.
